Canyon Lake Fishing Report

Canyon Lake Water is clear and 84 degrees The lake is 0.16' above pool. Largemouth bass are fair using watermelon-red Flukes, Texas-rigged watermelon Whacky-Sticks, and white crank-baits on and off points along flooded weeds and trees in 2 to 6 feet of water at early morning. The Striped bass are slow at this time. The White bass fishing is slow. The Smallmouth bass are good using root-beer JDC-grubs and crawfish/watermelon red-tubes on ball jig-heads on and around main lake points and ledges in 8 to15 feet. The Crappie fishing is fair-good on Curb's crappie-jigs and minnows on submerged brush-piles along channel break lines in 8 feet up-river. The Channel catfish are slow. The Yellow/blue catfish are very good on jug-lines and trot-lines up-river.
