Toledo Bend Fishing Report

The Toledo Bend water is slightly stained and is 70 to 73 Degrees F. The lake is 11.72’ below normal pool. The Largemouth Bass are fairly good on chartreuse soft plastic worms, spinner-baits, and deep diving crank-baits. The Striped bass are slow at this time. The White bass are pretty good on Li’l Fishies. The Crappie are only fair on live-minnows. The Bream are good on crickets and night-crawlers in about 5 to 10 feet of water. The Channel Cats and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with shrimp and night-crawlers. The Yellow catfish are very slow.

Bob Sandlin Fishing Report

The water is lightly stained and 82–88 degrees F. and 4.22’ low. Largemouth Bass are good on Texas rigs, football jigs and medium crank-baits. The Crappie are good on live live minnows. White bass are fair on slabs and Little Georges. Catfish are fair to good on trotlines or juglines with Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap.

The water is clear and 74 – 78 degrees F. and 3.66’ low. Largemouth Bass are good on spinner-baits, crank-baits, and, perch colored Rat–L–Traps in coves. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies. The Crappie are good on live minnows in 20 – 30 feet under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs, shrimp, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on juglines baited with live perch.

TX Fishing Reports - Lake Amistad

The water is clear and 68 – 74 degrees F. and 0.27’ high. Largemouth Bass are very good on crank-baits, topwater, Rat L Traps, spinner-baits, Senkos, and jigs. Striped bass are good on top water and Red Fins. White bass are fair on crank-baits and live minnows. The Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are good on cheese-bait, shrimp, and night-crawlers over baited holes in 6 – 25 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch at night. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

The water is fairly clear and 67–72 degrees F. and 3.28’ low. Largemouth Bass are fair to good on square bill crank-baits, Texas rigs, chatterbaits and drop shot rigs. Females are on beds or cruising in a post spawn pattern, so target anywhere from 1–15 feet. The Crappie are fair to good on live minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad over shallow mud flats.

Lake Buchanan Fishing Report

The water is clear and 64 – 67 degrees F. and 10.86’ low. Largemouth bass are good on pumpkin/chartreuse tail Whacky Sticks, white/chartreuse Terminator spinner-baits, and albino/blue soft jerk-baits along drop–offs of points in 5 – 10 feet. Striped bass are fair to good vertically jigging silver Perk live minnows and pearl ¼oz. Blade Runners, and tight lining live bait from Flag Island to the Willows in 25 – 35 feet. White bass are fair to good on Bleeding Shiner Tiny Traps, 2” Spoiler Shads, and live live minnows in the upper end of the lake in 15 – 20 feet. The Crappie are fair to good on live live minnows. Channel catfish are good on live bait. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on juglines baited with live bait.

Toledo Bend Lake Fishing Report - April 2011

The lake water is stained and 65 – 73 degrees and 7.32’ low. Largemouth bass are excellent on The lake water ismelon Ribbit frogs with red pearl bellies around shoreline vegetation early, and later on The lake water ismelon/gold and The lake water ismelon/purple Texas rigged Yamamoto weightless worms. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on Rinky Dinks and ¼oz. Rat L Traps on points in the north end of the lake. The Crappie are good on shiners and 1/16oz. pink/white and black/chartreuse Roadrunners in 4 – 10 feet. Bream are good on worms and Berkley Power Maggots. Channel and blue Catfish are good on prepared bait and liver in shallow flats and the mouths of creeks in 6 – 12 feet. Yellow Catfish are fair on live bait.
