Lake Coleman Fishing Report

Lake Coleman water fairly clear. Lake is 85 Degrees and is 8.27' below pool level. Largemouth Bass are very good on Rat L Traps, Spinner Baits, and chartreuse soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad near the park and the store. Crappie are good on Live Minnows and Li'l Fishies at night. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and chicken livers. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake water clear. Lake is 87 degrees. Largemouth Bass are fair on Spinner Baits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds and near the dam. Striped bass are good on liver and perch off points near the pier. Redfish are excellent on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cut-bait, and cheesebait near the dam.

Lake water clear. Lake is 87 degrees. Largemouth Bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on spoons and striper jigs between the dam and the crappie wall, and on chicken livers and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are excellent down rigging silver and gold spoons in 10 – 20 feet, on live perch and tilapia along the shoreline, and on live bait along the crappie wall. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are excellent on liver and cut-bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON Lake Camping, Campgrounds and Resorts

CHOKE CANYON Lake is great for the whole family. There are 15 RV Parks, Campgrounds and marinas on CHOKE CANYON Lake with most being on the east part of the lake. Most offer a boat launch and RV spaces or camping with 30 amp and 50 amp hookups.
CHOKE CANYON Lake and camping rates are from $15 to $30 per night with the off season being somewhat less. It is recommended that you reserve your camping space well in advance on CHOKE CANYON Lake as it is a popular campgrounds during the peak season.

When searching for Toledo Bend parks and campgrounds that are appealing to most families are the ones with a lake view, somewhat secluded in that you are not sharing your vacation with a host of neighbors, or listing to someone's favorite loud music.
RV Parks are abundant on Toledo Bend, but you must do your research. The prices can range from $25.00 to $35.00 per day with weekly rates adjusted lower. Many Toledo Bend marinas have an RV Park with all the necessary hookups. We also note that may retirees migrating to a warmer climate, take advantage of these lower monthly rates. Winter rates are usually at their lowest of the year with minimal campers.
Impounded in 1967, Toledo Bend Lake Texas (TX), is located approx. 25 miles northeast of Jasper Texas and is located in both Texas and Louisiana. Known for it's great bass fishing, it is also the Pro's choice for numerous fishing tournaments. Fisherman come from far and wide to fish Toledo Bend Lake. In addition to great Bass fishing, there is an abundance of Crappie which makes Toledo Bend Lake the perfect fishing trip for the whole family.
